Eco-friendly Kids Wooden Fox Plate

Our artisan couple run this amazing family-business - created out of their concern for the planet. Shocked by the plastics crisis and the damage it created for the environment, the duo took it in their stride to endeavour to replace everyday plastic items with beautifully designed, eco-friendly, British-made and British-sourced wooden products. Their passion for sustainability is genuine and commendable, which is why we love to promote their products.

The product packaging comes from one of only ten printers in the UK who are recognised as a carbon balanced printer by The World Land Trust (Sir David Attenborough is a Patron). They are also members of the Carbon Capture programme administered by The Woodland Trust and have ISO14001 and Forestry Stewardship Council accreditations.

The wood used in the products are harvested in the UK only. Trees stop absorbing carbon when they reach maturity, which is when it is harvested to be used in these products.

The wood is always sustainably sourced, legally felled, and comes from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) managed woodlands. The sawmills are bound by the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) and the company has Grown in Britain (GiB) accreditation. It is in the process of gaining Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) accreditation.

The Beech wood is naturally anti-bacterial and self-sterilises due to the presence of lignin which contains a huge amount of phenolic constructions that acts as an antioxidant. Further, wood surfaces dry quickly, which curtails any bacterial growth.

• Do not leave in standing water
• Not to be used in a microwave

The product has been built to last, but you can help prolong the shelf-life of this product by treating it often with mineral oil, or any other food grade oils.

Since wood is a natural material, the structure of the wood can move and therefore may change shape when exposed to above or below ambient temperature. If this occurs, please wash the product in hot water, towel dry, then leave to further dry on a drying rack. This will help return the product to the original shape.

Please be advised that the oil used on this product, may not be suitable for nut allergy sufferers as it may contain almond oil/tung oil/grapeseed oil.
