Plum Sugar / Dessert Bowl
Our artisans, Gillian and Mark’s adventure began in a small design studio in the early 80s in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, taking up commissions of various graphics, illustrations and textile designs. But working in a city, with its rich 400-year-old pottery heritage, soon inspired them to transform their ideas from paper to intricately designed finished bone china products.
Their work may reflect a contemporary design but they use traditional techniques to create every item. They have been commissioned to work on various projects - designing and manufacturing bone china for many prestigious clients, including major department stores, large galleries and museums and retailers. What’s admirable about them is that they have kept the traditions of the English potteries alive despite the decline of the local industry in Stoke-On-Trent.
